How do I clean my KEEGO properly?
The KEEGO is different from other drinking bottles, and the same applies to cleaning.
To ensure you always have a clean drink, it requires special and adapted care.
Please follow these simple steps after each use:
1. Rinse the bottle with a jet of water
2. Shake well and turn the bottle upside down
3. Turn the bottle upside down and leave to air dry on a draining rack
4. Please also separate your mouthpiece from the cap and rinse both parts
Titanium is non-sticky, so it is sufficient to rinse the bottle with water only.
Please do not use sponges or brushes for cleaning.
Alsoavoid penetrating the inside of the bottle or rubbing it with a tea towel, kitchen roll or fingers, as this can cause an abrasive effect. The titanium layer is sensitive and can be damaged if cleaned contrary to the instructions.
If you do not do this, there will be no abrasion.
It is a layer of pure titanium, completely without additives. It needs to be treated with the same sensitivity. Thank you for taking good care of it!
Can KEEGO go in the dishwasher?
The layer of pure titanium inside the bottle is non-stick and self-cleaning.
Due to aggressive cleaning salts and high temperatures, we strongly advise against cleaning in the dishwasher! This can have a negative effect on the titanium coating.
We recommend simply rinsing the KEEGO with water and allowing it to air dry.
Cleaning the caps and mouthpiece
The EasyClean cap consists of 2 parts, the cap and the mouthpiece. Please separate the mouthpiece after each use and rinse it with water. The mouthpiece is made of pure food-safe silicone and can be cleaned in the dishwasher or boiled if necessary.
Why is KEEGO cleaner than a conventional plastic bottle?
There is no elastic plastic that does not release some of its ingredients into the liquid. You can often taste this too. Microplastics, plasticizers and many other substances are harmful to your body. Pure titanium, on the other hand, is chemically stable. Unlike plastic, it does not react with any drinks and is also completely non-toxic.
Although not visible, plastic has a rough surface to which food particles adhere. For example, if you fill a plastic bottle with juice, some particles of your drink will remain in the bottle even after it has been emptied and cleaned. These remaining particles are the basis for mold to start growing. The next time you fill your bottle with water and drink from it, you will taste it. Titanium, on the other hand, has a closed, dirt-repellent surface. That's why KEEGO is easier to keep clean and much healthier.
So never again mould with KEEGO?
No bottle is 100% safe from mould - but the properties of titanium significantly reduce this risk.
