Tina's experience at a women-only cycling camp - community, challenge and unforgettable moments
There are experiences that touch you deeply, inspire you and change you for the long term.
For me, my first participation in the MyCyclingCamp Women Only was just such an experience.
As a passionate road cyclist who has been active in cycling for 17 years, I know what it means to challenge yourself, push your limits and grow in a strong community. But this camp enriched me in a very special way - far beyond the sporting aspect.
Growing together - What makes MyCyclingCamp Women Only special
I was born blind in one eye, but that has never stopped me from pursuing my sporting goals.
On the contrary: sport has always been a source of strength for me. It has given me self-confidence, pushed me physically and mentally and shown me that limitations are often only in the mind. Whether it's basketball, triathlon or cycling - I've learned to see challenges as opportunities.
But in a sport that is often dominated by men, there are moments when you have to prove yourself, adapt or fight your way through. For years, I took part in mixed cycling camps, usually with a high proportion of men. These experiences were valuable and instructive, but often also challenging. I was all the more surprised by the incredibly positive, inspiring and supportive atmosphere at an all-female camp.
It's not about who is the fastest or who can manage the steepest climbs. It's about sharing experiences, motivating each other and the pure joy of road cycling. Each participant brings her own story, her own challenges and her own goals - and yet we are all one.
Women's power on two wheels - why this camp is so special
From the very first day, I sensed that the camp would be different to anything I had experienced before. The atmosphere was warm, open and appreciative right from the start. No competition, no pressure - just women who share a passion for cycling.
The rides together were a dream. Rolling hills, picturesque coastal roads, the scent of pine trees in the air - and the feeling of being part of a group where everyone is there for everyone else. Whether on challenging climbs, technical descents or simply chatting after the tour - the Camo showed me once again that the true value of sport lies not only in the performance, but above all in the experience and the community.
The sessions to improve my technique were particularly valuable for me. I was able to hone my skills without pressure, learn new tricks and gain self-confidence. The experienced trainers took their time, explained things patiently and created an atmosphere in which every participant could have the confidence to try out new things.
More than just sport - real connections for life
Since my first participation in the MyCyclingCamp Women Only in 2022, so much has happened. What started as a one-off experience has now become a valuable community. We keep in touch via Instagram, WhatsApp and Zwift, exchange ideas, motivate each other and plan regular meetings.
These friendships would not have been formed without the camp - and that is exactly what makes it so special. It's not just about athletic development, but also about the feeling of being part of a supportive and inspiring group.
One moment I will never forget was the legendary party in Andalusia in 2022. Around 70 women, together on the beach, dancing, laughing, pure joie de vivre - a moment of absolute freedom and pure happiness. These memories still bring a smile to my face today, because they show that cycling is not just about training, but also about shared experiences and unforgettable moments.
A special highlight last year was the partnership with KEEGO, who provided us with a high-quality drinking bottle on site.
I already knew KEEGO, but it was only during the intensive training days in Andalusia that I realized how much of a difference the right equipment makes.
The KEEGO bottle is not only stylish and lightweight, but also incredibly practical. Thanks to its titanium-coated inner wall, the taste of the water remains neutral - no more plastic taste, even after hours of riding in the hot Mediterranean sun. It is also squeezable, so you can drink effortlessly even at high speed or on steep climbs.
During our tours, I often caught myself thinking how grateful I was for these small but important details. After all, being able to rely on your equipment makes a huge difference, especially on long journeys.
My conclusion - Why I will always come back
The MyCyclingCamp Women Only is not just a training camp - it is an experience that lasts. Not only did I improve my athletic skills here, but I also found a community that will stay with me long after the camp is over.
For me, this camp means motivation, inspiration and pure enjoyment of cycling. There is no better place to challenge yourself, learn new techniques and develop in a supportive environment.
Whether you are an experienced road cyclist or just starting out in the sport, if you want to develop your skills in a motivating environment, make new friends and experience unforgettable moments, then I can highly recommend this camp.
For my part, I know:
I'll be back! 🚴
