Where does KEEGO stand today?
We are once again in a very stable position. 2025 was a comeback year for us. After the challenges surrounding the fire in production the year before, we worked intensively to further develop our structures and processes and, together with our production partners, gradually build up more capacity again.
It was important to us not only to return to previous levels, but also to make production more robust and future-proof overall. Production is running reliably, our availability is much easier to plan, and at the same time we can think more ahead and focus on product innovations.
You recently conducted your largest customer survey. What did you learn from it?
Over 1,400 users took part, and it quickly became clear that many people have a very conscious relationship with our bottle. A large majority of our users actively recommend KEEGO to others. And it is precisely these recommendations that are actually our biggest growth factor. Our Net Promoter Score is over 60, which is a fantastic result and well above the average for the sporting goods industry.
If you take a closer look at the answers, you can see a very clear ranking of the reasons why people use our bottle: Taste is clearly in first place. Many report how pleasantly neutral water from a titanium bottle tastes. People who drink a lot or exercise regularly are particularly aware of this.
This is closely followed by health considerations. Issues such as microplastics and harmful substances in beverages are becoming increasingly important to more and more people. For many, this was a key factor in their decision to choose our solution.
Another frequently cited reason is suitability for everyday use. Many people now use the bottle not only for sports, but also in the office, on the go, or when traveling. It is precisely this multi-use concept—one bottle for many situations—that plays a major role for many users.
Health and clean drinking water seem to be becoming increasingly important?
Yes, that's very noticeable. In recent years, many studies on the subject of microplastics have been published, and more and more people are paying attention to what and from what they eat and drink every day. At some point, many realize that if you are mindful of healthy energy intake, your hydration system should also be compatible with this.
We try to explain this topic calmly and objectively. It's not about scaring people, but about raising awareness and providing information. KEEGO is increasingly establishing itself as a category of its own—as an alternative to traditional plastic bottles.
Around International Women's Day, there is currently a lot of talk again about equality in sport. What role does this play for KEEGO?
Supporting and respecting women in sport is not just a trend for us, but a fundamental principle that we live by every day. We are very proud that our community and our content are now almost perfectly balanced between women and men, and that the distribution of our customers is also almost equal. This is rather unusual in our industry and reinforces what we are doing.
At the same time, however, it also shows us that there is still a lot of potential. There is still a great deal we can learn from women and do together with and for women in sport.
Spring is just around the corner and the event season is about to begin – where can we meet you?
We will kick things off at Cycling World in Düsseldorf, which has become the leading trade fair for cycling in Germany. This will be followed by another highlight, the Bike Festival Vienna —which is particularly special for us, of course, because Vienna is our hometown. We would be delighted to see you at our stands and chat with you!
If you're looking for more inspiration for events, you'll find an overview in our blog with cycling event tips for 2026.
Not every project always goes as planned. The KEEGO x Twist bottle is currently unavailable. What's the reason behind this?
This is unfortunate, of course, because the combination of our clean KEEGO bottle and the proven Fidlock system was a truly great product. We were unable to reach an agreement with our long-standing partner Fidlock to continue production, which is why the bottle will not be manufactured until further notice.
We make such decisions not only on the basis of feasibility or economic efficiency, but also with regard to our values. Should we resume cooperation on this product in the future, we will of course inform our community via our social media channels and our newsletter.
In the meantime, KEEGO can still be used with the Fidlock Uni Connector —a combination that allows you to experience the clean drinking quality of our bottle in the Fidlock system as well.
What can KEEGO users look forward to in 2026?
A good example is the hockey nozzle, which we launched at the beginning of the year. Especially in helmet sports —such as hockey, downhill MTB, and American football—we see that this solution works very well for many athletes.
We are also currently launching the KEEGO Wave Dryer . It is the perfect addition for anyone who wants to dry their bottle hygienically and values durable and clean equipment.
Two products that many in the community have been asking for are also nearing completion: a bag for on the go and when traveling, and a bottle holder designed specifically for KEEGO bottles. And, of course, we are continuing to work on our bottles themselves. This includes new bottle sizes, a new trendy summer color, and, in the long term, a squeezable bottle with an insulating function, which is an exciting technical challenge. In general, we try to incorporate feedback from the community very directly into our product development.
Finally, a personal question: What motivates you most at the moment?
I am motivated by how often I see KEEGOs in everyday life —especially here in Vienna. When you suddenly see people with KEEGOs everywhere while running, cycling, or at the gym, it's a very special feeling. And then there are the many people we get to support in their adventures. We often get really excited in the office and celebrate these stories together.
Speaking of the office. We have an incredibly cool, athletic, and diverse team. There’s so much energy here, and we have fun doing it (…and good music). And then, of course, there’s my son Oskar. He’s just starting to ride his balance bike —and it’s motivating for me to know that he and his friends will never have to drink from smelly plastic bottles again.
"Drink clean, drink healthy, drink well, drink KEEGO" is what ultracyclist Sebastian Trimborn would probably say to wrap things up !
