There are experiences that deeply touch, inspire, and sustainably change you.
For me, my first participation in the MyCyclingCamp Women Only was exactly such an experience.
As a passionate road cyclist who has been active in cycling for 17 years, I know what it means to challenge yourself, push your limits, and grow in a strong community. But this camp enriched me in a very special way – far beyond the sporting aspect.
Growing together – What's special about MyCyclingCamp Women Only
I have been blind in one eye since birth, but that has never stopped me from pursuing my athletic goals.
On the contrary, sport has always been a source of strength for me. It has given me self-confidence, advanced me physically and mentally, and shown me that limitations often only exist in the mind. Whether it's korfball, triathlon or cycling - I've learned to see challenges as opportunities.
But in a sport that is often dominated by men, there are moments when you have to prove yourself, adapt, or fight your way through. For years I have participated in mixed cycling camps, mostly with a high proportion of men. These experiences were valuable and educational, but often also challenging. All the more I was surprised by the incredibly positive, inspiring and supportive atmosphere in a pure women's camp.
This is not about who is the fastest or who can handle the steepest climbs. This is about shared experiences, mutual motivation and the pure joy of road cycling. Each participant brings her own story, her own challenges and her own goals – and yet we are all one.
Girl power on two wheels – why this camp is so special
I felt from the first day that the camp would be different from anything I had experienced before. The atmosphere was warm, open and appreciative from the start. No competition, no pressure - just women sharing their passion for cycling.
The joint rides were a dream. Gentle hills, picturesque coastal roads, the scent of pine trees in the air - and the feeling of being part of a group where everyone is there for everyone else. Whether on challenging climbs, technical descents or simply chatting after the tour - the Camo has once again shown me that the true value of sport lies not only in performance, but above all in experience and community.
I found the technique improvement sessions particularly valuable. Here, I was able to hone my skills without pressure, learn new tricks, and gain confidence. The experienced trainers took their time, explained patiently, and created an atmosphere in which every participant could dare to try new things.
More than just sports – real connections for life
So much has happened since my first participation in MyCyclingCamp Women Only in 2022. What started as a one-time experience has now become a valuable community. We stay in touch via Instagram, WhatsApp and Zwift, exchange ideas, motivate each other and plan regular meetings.
These friendships would not have arisen without the camp – and that is precisely what makes it so special. It's not just about sporting development, but also about the feeling of being part of a supportive and inspiring group.
A moment I will never forget was the legendary party in Andalusia in 2022. About 70 women, together on the beach, dancing, laughing, pure joy of life – a moment of absolute freedom and pure happiness. These memories still bring a smile to my face today because they show that cycling is not just about training, but also about shared experiences and unforgettable moments.
A particular highlight last year was the partnership with KEEGO, who provided us with a high-quality water bottle on site.
I already knew KEEGO, but it was only during the intensive training days in Andalusia that I realized how much of a difference the right equipment makes.
The KEEGO bottle is not only stylish and lightweight, but also incredibly practical. Thanks to its titanium-coated inner wall, the taste of the water remains neutral – no more plastic taste, even after hours of riding in the hot Mediterranean sun. It is also squeezable, so you can drink effortlessly even at high speed or on steep climbs.
During our tours, I often found myself grateful for these small but significant details. Especially on long distances, it makes a huge difference when you can rely on your equipment.
My Conclusion – Why I Will Always Come Back
The MyCyclingCamp Women Only is more than just a training camp – it's an experience that stays with you. Here, I not only improved my athletic abilities, but also found a community that supports me far beyond the camp.
For me, this camp means motivation, inspiration, and pure joy of cycling. There is no better place to challenge yourself, learn new techniques, and develop in a supportive environment.
Whether you are an experienced racing cyclist or just starting out in the sport - if you feel like developing yourself further in a motivating environment, making new friends and experiencing unforgettable moments, then I can highly recommend this camp.
For my part, I know:
I'll be back! 🚴
